A police report has identified the teenager who was fatally shot last week in Warren.
According to authorities, the victim is Da’Mar McKinney, 16, of Youngstown. Officers responded just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, to the 1300 block of Mahoning Avenue NW, where McKinney was found lying in the snow with an apparent gunshot wound.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police have charged two 18-year-olds, Ashaud Johnson and Willis Smith, with murder in connection to McKinney’s death. Authorities say additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
Both suspects have pleaded not guilty to the murder charges. They are scheduled to appear in Warren Municipal Court on Thursday, February 19. A judge has ordered both individuals to be held without bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
