An 18-year-old man was shot and killed early Thursday morning at an apartment complex off Plank Road in Baton Rouge.
Police responded around 6:10 a.m. on Feb. 12 to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of The Reserve at Howell Place, located in the 4200 block of Ford Street. When officers arrived, they discovered a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was identified as 18-year-old Edwyn Williams. The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office was notified at approximately 6:45 a.m. and responded to conduct its examination. Officials have not publicly released additional details regarding the exact cause and manner of death beyond confirming that he died from injuries sustained in the shooting.
Authorities have not shared information about a possible suspect, motive, or whether the shooting was targeted. Detectives continue to process the scene, collect evidence, and interview potential witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation.
