EL PASO, Texas — The El Paso community is mourning the loss of Fernando Aria Jr., 29, who tragically died Monday morning after a crash on I-10 in Far East El Paso.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Aria Jr. was driving a white Kia eastbound on I-10 near Eastlake Boulevard around 1:40 a.m. when he rear-ended a semi-truck. Investigators reported that he was reportedly speeding and lost control of his vehicle, resulting in the fatal collision.
The crash temporarily closed all lanes of I-10 East at Eastlake Boulevard, but lanes reopened by 9 a.m. The incident remains under investigation by local authorities to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
