PHOENIX, Ariz. — The Phoenix community is mourning the tragic loss of Sam Ertebati and his wife, who were found dead inside their home near Interstate 17 and Bell Road on the afternoon of January 18.
According to Phoenix police, officers responded shortly before 5:15 p.m. to a report of an unknown trouble call. Upon arriving at the home, they discovered both Sam Ertebati and his wife had suffered gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the 42-year-old wife shot and killed her husband before taking her own life. The couple’s two children were in the home at the time of the tragedy but were not injured and reportedly did not witness the shooting.
Authorities confirmed there are no other suspects, and the investigation remains ongoing. The circumstances surrounding this tragic event have left family, friends, and the community in deep sorrow.
