In Loving Memory of Janet Wooding

MAYS LANDING, N.J. — The Mays Landing community is grieving the tragic loss of Janet Wooding, 80, who died Tuesday afternoon following a traffic crash in Hamilton Township.

Police said the crash occurred just after 4 p.m. at the intersection of Weymouth and Mizpah roads. Wooding was driving north on Weymouth Road when she attempted to make a left turn onto Mizpah Road and collided with a southbound truck driven by James Birch, 58, of Estell Manor. Wooding suffered severe traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The roadway remained closed for approximately four hours while investigators documented the crash and emergency crews cleared the scene. Multiple agencies responded, including the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad, Mays Landing, Weymouth, and Laureldale fire departments, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, and the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

Family, friends, and neighbors in Mays Landing are mourning Wooding’s sudden passing. She is remembered as a longtime member of the community, and her loss has left a profound sense of sorrow among those who knew her.
