COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. — The Cottage Grove community is mourning the loss of 50-year-old Eusebio Pablo Pablo, who was fatally shot early Tuesday morning in a tragic incident on Highway 99.
According to the Cottage Grove Police Department, officers responded on Jan. 20 to the 1500 block of Highway 99 after reports of gunfire. They found Pablo suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite CPR efforts at the scene, he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing a person in dark clothing fleeing the area, but no suspects have yet been identified. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office and the Lane County District Attorney’s Office are assisting in the ongoing homicide investigation.
