According to investigators, an argument between Dogra and Kumar began at their Atlanta home. The couple then traveled with their 12-year-old child to a residence on Brook Ivy Court in Lawrenceville, where Cumar, Nidhi Chander, and Harish Chander lived with their two children, ages 7 and 10. Police say the adults in the home were related to Dogra and Kumar.
Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Brook Ivy Court around 2:30 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired inside the residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered four adults dead, all suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Three children were found hiding in a closet and were unharmed. The 12-year-old reportedly called 911 following the incident.
Kumar was located a short distance from the home and taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with four counts of malice murder, four counts of felony murder, four counts of aggravated assault, one count of cruelty to children in the first degree, and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree.
Police say the motive remains under investigation but appears to be domestic-related. There are no additional suspects, and the investigation remains ongoing.
