Two Killed in Four-Vehicle Crash in Denham Springs; Victims Identified

DENHAM SPRINGS, La. — Police are investigating a deadly four-vehicle crash in Denham Springs that claimed the lives of two men Monday evening.

Authorities identified the victims as Michael Wale, 69, and Richard McLaren, 65. Both were among the four drivers involved in the collision.

The crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. on Monday, January 12, on South Range Avenue at Hazelnut Street.

According to the Denham Springs Police Department, initial reports indicate that a Ford F-250 was traveling northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, it crossed a mountable curb divider and struck a Nissan Maxima along with two additional vehicles.

Police said the drivers of the other two vehicles suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

South Range Avenue was shut down for several hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene and conduct the investigation.

The Denham Springs Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
