FAIRFIELD, Iowa — The Fairfield community is mourning the loss of 17-year-old Emmelia Miller, who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Hemlock Avenue. Miller was traveling north when she lost control of her vehicle due to weather conditions and was side-struck by a 2025 Dodge truck. Authorities confirmed that Miller was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other individuals were injured in the crash. A 24-year-old woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment, while a 25-year-old man sustained injuries but was not hospitalized.
