In Loving Memory of Tyler Miller

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga community is mourning the tragic loss of Tyler Miller, 35, who was fatally shot to death Tuesday inside a hotel room near Hamilton Place.

According to Chattanooga police, Miller was found around 1 p.m. Tuesday inside a room at the Aloft Hotel on Hamilton Place Boulevard. Investigators say he suffered a gunshot wound to the head and had been deceased for several hours before being discovered. His cell phone, keys, and wallet were missing, indicating they were taken during or after the attack.

Police identified 42-year-old Rachel Perry-Mellen, also known as Rachel Laura Perry, as the suspect. Authorities allege she rented the hotel room alone, and surveillance footage shows her leaving shortly before Miller was found, carrying a large handbag and leaving the scene in a black Jeep Cherokee. Perry-Mellen has been charged with second-degree murder, theft of property, tampering with evidence, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Tyler Miller is remembered by family, friends, and the community as a cherished son, friend, and neighbor whose life was tragically cut short. His sudden and violent death has left loved ones and the Chattanooga community heartbroken. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
