PINE BLUFF, Ark. — The Pine Bluff community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 23-year-old Jurnea Stanley, who was fatally shot Monday afternoon at a residence on 2405 W. 24th Street.
According to the Pine Bluff Police Department, officers responded to the scene shortly after 2:00 P.M. on January 26, 2026. Upon arrival, Stanley was found unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Also present at the scene was 25-year-old Michael Johnson, who was questioned by detectives and subsequently booked into the Jefferson County Jail on charges of Second-Degree Murder. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and no additional details have been released at this time.
Jurnea Stanley’s untimely passing has left family, friends, and the Pine Bluff community in profound grief. Loved ones remember her as a bright and compassionate young woman whose presence touched the lives of those around her. Her loss is felt deeply by all who knew her.
