ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. — The Anderson community is mourning the loss of Floyd Eugene Landers, 85, who died Monday evening following a tragic crash at the intersection of Sayre Street and South Murray Avenue.
According to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office, the crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. Preliminary information indicates that Landers was driving on South Murray Avenue when his vehicle was struck on the side by another car traveling on Sayre Street.
Landers was found severely injured at the scene and was transported to AnMed, where he died shortly after arrival, officials said. The coroner determined that his cause of death was blunt chest trauma sustained during the collision. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and his death was ruled accidental.
The loss of Floyd Eugene Landers has left family members, friends, and the Anderson community grieving a life well lived. Loved ones remember him as a cherished member of the community whose passing is deeply felt.
