CHURCHVILLE, Pa. — The Churchville community is mourning the tragic loss of Deborah Castiglia, 53, and her parents, Frederick Castiglia, 90, and Judith Castiglia, 83, who were found dead Monday inside their home on Heather Road in Northampton Township, Bucks County.
According to authorities, the family’s lives were cut short in a violent incident involving Deborah’s brother, 55-year-old Kevin Castiglia, who barricaded himself inside the home during a standoff with police. The standoff lasted several hours and was resolved peacefully after law enforcement deployed tear gas, a taser, and cold water to secure his surrender.
Police say the situation began when Deborah’s boyfriend grew concerned after being unable to reach her and discovered Kevin Castiglia covered in blood inside the residence. Officers found all three family members deceased upon entering the home. The Bucks County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of their deaths.
Kevin Castiglia had reportedly been charged the day before the incident with terroristic threats, simple assault, and related offenses. Authorities have not announced any new charges related to the deaths, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The loss of Deborah, Frederick, and Judith Castiglia has left family, friends, and the community grieving deeply. Loved ones remember them as cherished members of their family and community whose absence leaves an irreplaceable void. Thoughts and prayers remain with all who knew and loved the Castiglia family during this profoundly difficult time.
