In Loving Memory of Cameron J. Dimond

CHEHALIS, Wash. — The Chehalis community is mourning the tragic loss of Cameron J. Dimond, 33, who was killed in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday morning on State Route 6 near Littell.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 5:47 a.m. near milepost 48, west of Chehalis. Dimond was traveling eastbound on State Route 6 in a 2020 Ford Transit van when he attempted to turn left onto Stearns Road. Troopers said his vehicle struck a westbound 2012 Ford F-350 pickup, resulting in a head-on collision.

Dimond was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the pickup, Daniel J. Nederlander, 37, of Onalaska, was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital with minor injuries.

Both vehicles were totaled in the collision and blocked the roadway for several hours, prompting extended closures along State Route 6, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The Washington State Patrol listed the cause of the crash as failure to yield. A memo from the agency noted that it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved. The investigation remains ongoing.

Cameron Dimond’s sudden passing has left family, friends, and the Chehalis area grieving a life lost far too soon. Loved ones remember him as a valued member of the community whose absence leaves a profound and lasting void.
