WEIRTON, W.Va. — The Weirton community is mourning the loss of Ashley Kukich, 39, who was found deceased Tuesday afternoon in a creek along Kings Creek Road. Her death has left many with unanswered questions and a deep sense of sorrow.

According to the Weirton Police Department, officers were dispatched around 3:25 p.m. to the area of 2856 Kings Creek Road after receiving a report of a body in the water. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Kukich lying on top of the ice in the creek. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
