In Loving Memory of Damion Lamarr Jacobs, Taken Too Soon

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The Fort Wayne community is mourning the tragic loss of Damion Lamarr Jacobs, 19, whose life was cut short following a fatal shooting on the city’s southeast side.

According to authorities, Fort Wayne Police were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday to reports of an unconscious man behind an apartment building in the 6100 block of Holgate Drive. Officers and medics arrived on scene and attempted life-saving measures, but Damion was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office later confirmed Damion’s identity and ruled that he died from a gunshot wound. His manner of death was classified as a homicide. Detectives and crime scene investigators continue working to determine the circumstances that led to his death.

Damion Lamarr Jacobs was a young man with his whole life ahead of him, and his sudden passing has left family, friends, and loved ones devastated. His loss is deeply felt throughout the Fort Wayne community as those who knew him struggle to come to terms with this heartbreaking tragedy.
