FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The Fort Wayne community is heartbroken following the tragic loss of 17-year-old Bay Lar, who died Thursday night in a devastating two-vehicle crash at the intersection of S. Anthony Blvd. and Gardendale Ave.
According to authorities, the crash occurred just before 10 p.m. when two vehicles, traveling in opposite directions, collided as one attempted to turn. Each vehicle carried two people, and all were transported to a local hospital. Despite medical care, Bay Lar succumbed to blunt impact injuries to the head and torso, as confirmed by the Allen County Coroner.
Investigators with the Fort Wayne Fatal Accident Crash Team, assisted by the FWPD Air Support Unit and the Allen County Coroner’s Office, worked at the scene to reconstruct the crash and determine contributing factors. The investigation remains ongoing.
Bay Lar’s passing leaves a profound void for his family, friends, and community. He will be remembered for his energy, his presence, and the bright future that was so tragically cut short.
