LEWISTON — The Lewiston community is mourning the tragic loss of Jack Caldwell, 49, who died following a single-vehicle crash on January 29, 2026.
According to authorities, officers and fire personnel responded around 11:35 p.m. to the 2900 block of Juniper Drive. A 2004 red Saturn Vue, driven by Caldwell, had left the roadway on the west side and struck a tree while traveling southbound. First responders performed life-saving measures at the scene before Caldwell was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The Lewiston Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Team is conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Traffic on Juniper Drive was closed for approximately two hours while officers reconstructed the scene.
