James Marquis Simmons, 35, Dies in Early-Morning Shooting at Killeen Club

KILLEEN, Texas — The Killeen community is mourning the tragic loss of James Marquis Simmons, 35, who died following a shooting early Sunday morning, February 1, 2026, at Club Blu Print.

According to the Killeen Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 3:59 a.m. to 4505 E. Veterans Memorial Boulevard after reports of a gunshot victim. First responders found Simmons in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately airlifted to Carl R. Darnall Medical Center in critical condition but was pronounced deceased at 5:01 a.m.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the 9-1-1 caller reported hearing gunshots and then discovering the male in the parking lot with a gunshot wound,” said Ofelia Miramontez, public affairs officer for Killeen Police. Authorities reported that an unknown vehicle was seen leaving the scene.
