In Loving Memory of Victor Torres

EDINBURG, TX — The Edinburg community is grieving the tragic loss of Victor Torres, 33, whose life was cut short Tuesday evening in a devastating motorcycle crash.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred around 9:16 p.m. on Brushline Road north of Davis Road. Torres, an Edinburg resident, was riding a green 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle at a high rate of speed while fleeing from a patrol unit that had attempted to stop him for a traffic violation.

DPS reported that Torres, wearing a helmet at the time, attempted to overtake a northbound 2006 International Dump Truck and make a left turn into a nearby residence. Tragically, he collided with the dump truck and was ejected from his motorcycle, sustaining fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family, friends, and neighbors are mourning Torres’ sudden passing. He is remembered as a vibrant member of the Edinburg community whose life was tragically cut short.

The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
