The Warsaw, Virginia, community is mourning the loss of Arthur A. Day, 58, whose life was tragically cut short following a hit-and-run crash on Tuesday evening, February 3, 2026.
According to Virginia State Police, Arthur was struck while crossing Route 360 (Richmond Road) in the town of Warsaw at approximately 7:30 p.m., about 129 feet west of Campus Drive. Investigators say multiple vehicles were traveling eastbound at the time. The first vehicle swerved to avoid him, but a second vehicle struck Arthur and fled the scene.
The vehicle involved was described by witnesses as a black or dark-colored SUV traveling eastbound on Route 360. No license plate information was obtained, and the driver remains unidentified.
Arthur was transported to VCU Tappahannock, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
His sudden passing has left family, friends, and community members grieving a loss that came far too soon. Arthur is remembered not for the circumstances of his death, but for the life he lived and the presence he brought to those around him.
The investigation into Arthur’s death remains ongoing. Virginia State Police continue to ask anyone with information to come forward.
