The Santa Fe, New Mexico, community is mourning the tragic loss of Angelo Romero, 31, who died Tuesday night following a devastating vehicle crash on Interstate 25.
According to Santa Fe police, officers were dispatched around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of a crash involving a deceased person in the roadway near the southbound exit from Interstate 25 to northbound St. Francis Drive. Investigators determined that a single-vehicle rollover crash had occurred.
Police said Angelo was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover and was subsequently struck by multiple vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The exit was closed for several hours as authorities conducted a thorough investigation and later reopened Wednesday morning. During the closure, drivers traveling northbound on St. Francis Drive were advised to use the Old Pecos Trail exit.
Angelo’s sudden passing has left family, friends, and loved ones grieving a life taken far too soon. He is remembered for the life he lived and the memories he shared with those who knew him.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing. Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to contact Traffic Officer Arthur Maes at ammaes@santafenm.gov.
