The Laredo community is holding Osvaldo Pedroza, 36, in its thoughts following the shooting that occurred Wednesday morning on the 1800 block of Marcella Avenue, according to the Laredo Police Department.
Osvaldo was found at the scene suffering from gunshot injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. His condition has not been publicly released. Family, friends, and community members continue to hope for his recovery during this difficult time.
Authorities later detained a 45-year-old male suspect near Deer Creek off Mines Road in connection with the incident. Charges are pending, and the investigation remains ongoing.
During the police response, Memorial Middle School was briefly placed on lockdown as a precaution. The Laredo Independent School District confirmed the lockdown has since been lifted and no students or staff were harmed.
