One Dead, Another Arrested Following Shooting at Bally’s Casino in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person is dead and another is in custody following a shooting Wednesday night at Bally’s Casino in Kansas City, authorities say.

Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of East Front Street at approximately 9:30 p.m. after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim in the casino parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers immediately began performing life-saving measures and called KCFD EMS to the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. The victim has been identified as Aundre Harris Jr., 18.

Police say the incident is being investigated as a homicide. A subject of interest was taken into custody at the scene and remains under investigation.

Preliminary reports indicate the shooting stemmed from a disturbance inside the casino involving multiple individuals, which later escalated into an altercation in the parking lot where shots were fired, striking Harris.
