In Loving Memory of Cornelius Morrison

ALBANY, N.Y. — The Albany community is grieving the tragic loss of Cornelius Morrison, 77, who passed away Wednesday evening after being struck by a vehicle in Colonie.

According to the Colonie Police Department, the fatal pedestrian crash occurred just after 5:30 p.m. near 1157 Central Avenue. Responding officers found Morrison with critical injuries. Despite emergency response efforts, he died as a result of the collision.

Police stated that the driver involved was not impaired and has been fully cooperating with investigators. Authorities confirmed that no charges have been filed and none are expected as the investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.

Central Avenue was closed for several hours between Osborne Road and Kraft Avenue while police conducted their investigation. The roadway reopened at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Family, friends, and neighbors across Albany are mourning the sudden passing of Morrison. His loss has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
