PINSON, Alabama — Authorities have identified Matthew Wade Brasher, 48, of Trussville, as the victim in a fatal multi-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday afternoon in Pinson. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed Brasher was the driver and sole occupant of his vehicle.
The collision occurred around 3 p.m. on Feb. 5 in the 6700 block of Deerfoot Parkway, a heavily traveled north Jefferson County thoroughfare connecting Pinson, Clay, and Trussville. Emergency responders quickly arrived on scene and transported Brasher to UAB Hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Law enforcement officials have not yet released the number of vehicles involved or the factors contributing to the collision. Authorities are examining roadway conditions, vehicle positions, driver statements, and other evidence as part of a standard crash investigation. Deerfoot Parkway experienced delays while responders worked to secure the area and assist those involved.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed Brasher’s identity following notification of next of kin. No additional injuries, charges, or citations have been reported. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information to contact responding agencies.
This tragic loss serves as a reminder of the importance of roadway safety on busy commuter routes and the unpredictable nature of serious traffic collisions.
