BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont police have identified 18-year-old Charles Siggers as a suspect in a fatal shooting that left one man dead Friday night in a wrecked vehicle on Woodrow Avenue. Authorities have obtained a murder warrant for Siggers, according to a Saturday morning news release from the Beaumont Police Department.
Officers were called around 8:37 p.m. Friday to the 500 block of Woodrow Avenue near Highland Avenue after reports of a shooting victim. Upon arrival, they found a deceased man inside a crashed vehicle. Detectives determined the victim, known as Og Rudy, died from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.
Through preliminary investigation, detectives identified Siggers as a suspect and secured an active murder warrant. Police have not released additional details about the circumstances that led to the shooting or further information about the victim.
Authorities also reported a second shooting near the scene Friday night, but they have not confirmed if the incidents are connected.
