EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Vanderburgh County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 14-year-old Nathan Snyder of Newburgh, who was killed in a pedestrian accident on Interstate 69 Monday.
According to authorities, the tragedy occurred around midnight just west of the Covert Avenue exit when Nathan was walking on the highway and was struck by a vehicle. Emergency responders say he died at the scene. The driver stayed and is cooperating fully with investigators. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to have played a role in the crash.
Nathan’s sudden and tragic passing has left friends, family, and neighbors devastated. Those who knew him remember a bright, energetic young life with so much promise, now ended far too soon. The community has expressed its sorrow, with many sharing condolences and memories of the young teen.
