HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. — The Hardin County community is mourning the tragic loss of Carol Ollis, 45, who was killed early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 65 south.
Kentucky State Police report that the incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. near the 100-mile marker when a Dodge Durango struck Ollis while he was on the highway. Emergency responders pronounced him deceased at the scene, according to the Hardin County Coroner.
The southbound lanes of I-65 were closed for approximately four hours while authorities conducted their investigation. The case is currently being led by KSP Collision Reconstructionist Detective Scott Wheatly, and the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under review.
Ollis’ sudden passing has left family, friends, and neighbors devastated. Those who knew him remember a life full of promise and kindness, now tragically cut short. The Hardin County community continues to offer support and condolences to his loved ones during this difficult time.
