BALTIMORE, Md. — A deadly crash in Pikesville on Thursday morning claimed the life of 31-year-old Sydney Jones, Baltimore County authorities confirmed.
According to the Baltimore County Police Department, the collision occurred around 7:30 a.m. on February 12 in the area of Old Court Road and Harden Lane. Police say a 2016 Nissan Rogue, driven by Jones, was traveling westbound when it crossed into the opposing lane and collided head-on with a 2018 Audi Q5 traveling eastbound.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. A juvenile passenger in the Nissan was transported to a nearby hospital, though the extent of their injuries has not been released. The driver of the Audi was also hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team is actively investigating the circumstances of the accident to determine the cause. Authorities have not indicated whether impairment or speed played a role.
