VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Vicksburg Police Department is investigating the city’s second homicide of the year after a man was found shot along U.S. Highway 61 South late Wednesday night.
Just after 11 p.m. on February 11, officers responded to an E-911 call near Demby Drive reporting a male suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, police discovered Jaylon Walker, 25, of Hermanville, inside a vehicle with a gunshot injury. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement released on its Facebook page, the department said it is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“Our investigators are committed to gathering all available facts and ensuring a complete review. The safety of our community remains a top priority,” the statement read.
