DEFIANCE COUNTY, Ohio — A tragic multi-vehicle crash on Thursday night in Adams Township claimed the life of 47-year-old Jennifer Bartlett of Alvordton and left two others, including a juvenile, seriously injured.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers were called shortly after 9:04 p.m. to Domersville Road near Flory Road following reports of a crash involving three vehicles. Investigators determined that a juvenile driving a northbound Chevrolet Malibu went left of center and collided with a southbound Chrysler Town & Country, leaving both vehicles disabled. The Malibu remained in the roadway, while the Town & Country went off the road.
Debris from the crash struck a southbound GMC Sierra, which came to a controlled stop. The driver of the Sierra was wearing a seat belt and was unharmed.
Authorities reported that Jennifer Bartlett, the driver of the Town & Country, was not wearing a seat belt and sustained fatal injuries at the scene. A passenger in the same vehicle, also unrestrained, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital. The juvenile driver of the Malibu was not wearing a seat belt, sustained serious injuries, and was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to a children’s hospital via air ambulance.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed that the crash remains under investigation.
