Authorities Identify Victim in Fatal Mission Valley Crash

MISSION VALLEY, Mont. – Authorities have identified the man killed in a fatal crash that occurred early Sunday morning near Ravalli, leaving another person injured.

Lake County Sheriff Donald Bell identified the victim as Lyle R. Zeiler, 35, of Arlee. The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. at mile marker 27 on Highway 93 near Ravalli Hill.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, Zeiler was driving a Honda Civic northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 93 when his vehicle collided head-on with a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Zeiler was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

A 35-year-old woman from St. Ignatius was also injured in the crash and taken to an area hospital for treatment. Her current condition has not been released.

The Montana Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Zeiler’s death is a tragic loss for his family, friends, and the Arlee community. Loved ones are mourning his sudden passing and remembering him as a valued member of the community. The incident serves as a somber reminder of the dangers on roadways and the lasting impact such tragedies have on families and communities.
