CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Saturday morning on the city’s east side, which claimed the life of a 25-year-old woman.
Authorities were called to the intersection of St. Clair Avenue and East 107th Street just after 2:30 a.m. for reports of a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the driver, 28, had been traveling east on St. Clair Avenue when the vehicle failed to navigate a curve, leaving the roadway and striking a pole and brick sign.

The passenger, Cornay Littlejohn, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police indicated that speed likely contributed to the crash and that neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
The Cleveland Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and urges anyone with information to come forward.
