Bermuda Police Service (BPS) has confirmed that 15-year-old Siena Frankson was the victim of a fatal road traffic collision that occurred around 9:46 p.m. on Saturday, February 14.
The crash took place just west of Stone Crusher Corner along Kindley Field Road in St. George’s. According to police, Ms. Frankson was riding as a pillion passenger on a motorcycle operated by an 18-year-old male who reportedly lost control of the bike while traveling east. The motorcycle collided with nearby rocks, causing Ms. Frankson to be thrown into adjacent waters.
Police officers at the scene recovered her from the water and immediately began life-saving efforts until EMTs arrived shortly thereafter. She was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The motorcycle rider, who was reportedly incoherent following the crash, was also taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. He was treated for minor injuries and subsequently discharged.
Authorities extended sincere condolences to Ms. Frankson’s family and friends. A BPS Family Liaison Officer is currently providing support to her loved ones.
This marks the third fatal road traffic collision in Bermuda this year. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information who has not yet come forward is urged to contact Acting Sergeant Ralshon Douglas at 717-0964 or via email at rdouglas@bps.bm.
