Woman Identified in Fatal Tuscaloosa County Crash

Tuscaloosa County — Authorities have identified the woman who died following a head-on collision Tuesday night that also left two others injured.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash occurred around 8:05 p.m. on February 17 along Alabama Highway 69 near the 155-mile marker, approximately seven miles north of Tuscaloosa.

Officials said 43-year-old Haley G. Lancaster of Brookwood was driving a Hyundai Sonata when it collided head-on with a Ford Expedition driven by 45-year-old Elizabeth Broemlage of Northport. Lancaster was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers reported that a 12-year-old passenger in the Ford Expedition was also injured. Broemlage and the juvenile were transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment. Authorities have not released details regarding the extent of their injuries.

Senior Trooper Gregory Corble stated that Lancaster was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine contributing factors. Officials are urging motorists to remain attentive, wear seat belts, and exercise caution while traveling on highways. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
