Suspect Charged After Fatal Shooting Claims Lives of Teen and Toddler in Rock Hill

Rock Hill — The Rock Hill community is grieving after a deadly shooting Tuesday night left two people dead, including a 4-year-old child, authorities say.

According to the Rock Hill Police Department, officers responded around 7:30 p.m. to a reported shooting on Frank Street. When they arrived, they found two men and a young child suffering from gunshot wounds.

Investigators say the incident began as an argument between a 19-year-old and a 34-year-old. The confrontation escalated into a shootout that continued as both men left the home. During the exchange, a 4-year-old inside the house was also struck.

The deceased have been identified as Jamareon Kimble, 19, and Jakolby Clifton, 4. Both succumbed to their injuries.

The 34-year-old suspect, Cedric Akeen Creighton of Lancaster, has been charged with two counts of murder, possession of a weapon during a crime of violence, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a person previously convicted of certain crimes. Creighton is currently being treated at a hospital for injuries sustained during the incident and will be taken into custody once released.

The Rock Hill Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. Community leaders are urging residents to support the families affected during this devastating time.
