In Loving Memory of Bridgette Ingram

GILLESPIE, Ill. – The Gillespie community is mourning the tragic loss of Bridgette Ingram, 56, who passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, after a fatal incident on Interstate 55 in Litchfield.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on January 14, 2026, when emergency personnel responded to reports of a woman who had jumped from the Illinois Route 16 overpass onto I-55. First responders, including Litchfield Fire Department, Litchfield Police, Illinois State Police, and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, arrived quickly to the scene. Despite their efforts, Bridgette was pronounced deceased by Montgomery County Coroner Randy Leetham.

Bridgette’s sudden passing has left her family, friends, and the Gillespie community in profound grief. Those who knew her remember her as a caring and beloved member of the community, whose presence and spirit touched the lives of many. Her death is a heartbreaking loss, leaving a void in the hearts of those who loved her.
