OWENSBORO, Ky. — Authorities have identified the pedestrian killed in a collision Wednesday night as 39-year-old Amanda Foster, the Daviess County Coroner’s Office confirmed. The incident occurred on Frederica Street near Fulton Drive.
The Owensboro Police Department (OPD) said the investigation is ongoing, with assistance from the Accident Reconstruction Unit. OPD reported that 21-year-old Anderson Xol was arrested on February 19 in connection with the crash, which killed Foster and critically injured another pedestrian.
Xol faces multiple charges, including murder, first-degree assault, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid or assistance, and operating without a valid license. Authorities said the vehicle initially left the scene but returned shortly afterward. Officers observed signs of intoxication, and a breath test indicated a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit.
Court records show Xol’s bail was initially set at $500,000 cash but was increased to $1,000,000 cash during his arraignment on February 20. He is scheduled to appear in court again on February 27.
The Owensboro community continues to mourn Amanda Foster’s death as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic collision.
