LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. — A 54-year-old man, Patrick Rowe, has died following an officer-involved shooting on Saturday in Lawrence County.
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suicidal individual armed with a gun. Deputies arrived at a manufactured home, where Rowe was seen sitting in a chair through an open door. Authorities said deputies attempted to talk to him, but he pulled out a gun and refused to drop it, prompting deputies to fire.
Rowe was treated at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The Alabama Department of Forensic Science will perform an autopsy.
Sheriff Sanders requested the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency to conduct the investigation.
