In Loving Memory of Trycina Nichole Whitehurst

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Greenville community is mourning the tragic death of Trycina Nichole Whitehurst, 23, who was fatally assaulted early Friday morning, January 16, 2026, at her residence along West Parker Road.

According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, multiple 911 calls were made reporting the assault. Deputies arriving on the scene found Trycina with significant visible injuries. Emergency personnel confirmed that she was deceased at the scene at 12:48 a.m. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office responded and officially identified her. An autopsy was scheduled to determine the official cause and manner of death.

The suspect 
Authorities reported that the suspect, described as a Black male wearing camouflage pants and a black jacket, had already fled the scene. Investigators believe the victim and suspect knew each other. The case remains under active investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office.

Trycina is remembered as a kind, vibrant, and compassionate young woman whose life touched family, friends, and neighbors. Her sudden and violent passing has left a profound void for all who knew her.

As the Greenville community grieves, heartfelt condolences and prayers are extended to her family and loved ones. Friends and neighbors recall her warmth, generosity, and the positive impact she had on those around her.
