According to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 4:18 p.m. near the intersection of Union Street and Stetson Road East, close to Ollie’s Market. Toothaker’s vehicle collided head-on with a tree. First responders rendered aid at the scene before transporting her to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Despite their efforts, she later succumbed to her injuries.
