LAKEWOOD, Calif. — The Lakewood community is grieving the sudden and tragic loss of Hector Lionel Alfaro, 52, his wife, 48, and their 17-year-old daughter, who were found deceased inside their home on Lorelei Avenue near South Street on Thursday morning, January 15, 2026.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded around 8 a.m. following a report of a serious assault. A 19-year-old daughter, the eldest in the family, exited the home in distress and alerted authorities. She was unharmed during the incident. Upon entering the residence, deputies discovered the three family members deceased, each in a separate area of the home.
Two firearms were recovered at the scene. Sheriff’s officials emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the community and that the situation appeared contained within the residence. Investigators remained at the scene throughout the day, collecting evidence, speaking with witnesses, and working to understand the circumstances leading to the deaths.
