In Loving Memory of Jerry Brown

The Dyer County community is mourning the tragic loss of Jerry Brown, 63, who passed away early Saturday morning following a devastating house fire near the 200 block of Pecan Street in Finley, Tennessee.

According to authorities, the fire occurred in the early hours of the morning, and first responders from Finley, Lenox, Fowlkes, and Dyersburg tankers, along with Medical Center EMS, worked courageously in frigid conditions to try to save lives. Despite their swift and valiant efforts, Jerry Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to Nashville by the Dyer County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Sheriff Jeff Box expressed his heartfelt condolences, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this incredibly difficult time. The loss of a loved one is devastating, and we ask everyone to keep them in their prayers as they navigate through this tragedy.”

The Dyer County Fire Department, together with the Sheriff’s Office Arson Investigator and the TBI Fire Investigation Unit, is actively working to determine the cause and origin of the fire. No firefighters were injured during the response, and the incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of fire safety.
