In Loving Memory of Dakota Ray Hinman

The community of Parsons, Kansas, is grieving the tragic passing of Dakota Ray Hinman, 34, whose life was lost in a fatal two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning north of Coffeyville.

The collision occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 169 and County Road 2800, just north of the Coffeyville Airport Industrial Park. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Dakota was traveling west on County Road 2800 when his vehicle entered the intersection and was struck on the driver’s side by a northbound semi-tractor trailer.

Dakota was pronounced dead at the scene, bringing sudden heartbreak to his family, friends, and all who knew him in Parsons. Authorities reported that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The semi was driven by Said Bouchelarm, 43, of Lenexa, Kansas, who sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment. The semi-tractor trailer was hauling another vehicle when the collision occurred.

Dakota’s passing has left a deep and painful void in the Parsons community. He is remembered not only for his life cut far too short, but for the relationships, memories, and moments he shared with those closest to him. As the community mourns, neighbors and loved ones are coming together to support one another during this time of profound loss.

The Kansas Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
