BAKER COUNTY, Fla. — The Baker County community is mourning the tragic loss of Marcus Gene Hodges, 60, who was fatally shot in a devastating family incident on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
According to the Baker County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), Hodges was shot by his son, Marcus Shane Hodges, 36, during a confrontation at their home. Following the shooting, a Baker County deputy was also injured but sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is recovering.
