Bryan Radford, 56, of Hopkinsville, Dies in Franklin County Officer-Involved Shooting

FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Franklin County community is mourning the tragic loss of 56-year-old Bryan Radford of Hopkinsville, who died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, during an officer-involved shooting in Frankfort.

According to Kentucky State Police, the incident occurred just before 6 p.m. when officers from the Frankfort Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting call at a home on Ridgeview Drive. Radford reportedly entered the home and returned with a handgun. Law enforcement officers fired shots at Radford, who was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured during the incident.

Kentucky State Police have assumed control of the investigation. It remains unclear whether Radford discharged his weapon during the confrontation. Authorities are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
