MADISON COUNTY, IND. — The Madison County community is grieving following a devastating two-vehicle crash that claimed the lives of three people Wednesday afternoon along State Road 67.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred around 4:20 p.m. in the 5500 block of SR 67, between North Pendleton Avenue and West Ridge Lane. Investigators believe a black 2011 Nissan Titan traveling northbound crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.
There were no survivors in the Nissan. The passengers, identified as Timmy Davis, 62, and Debra Davis, 64, of Buford, Georgia, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep Wrangler, Carlos Caudill, 41, of Pendleton, was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Anderson, where he later passed away from his injuries.
Following the crash, all lanes of SR 67 were closed for nearly two hours as emergency crews responded and investigators worked the scene. The Indiana Department of Transportation later confirmed the roadway has since been reopened.
