Female Killed in Chicago Double Shooting Identified

CHICAGO, Ill. — Authorities have identified the female victim in a double shooting Wednesday afternoon as Gina Ayres, 26, also known as “Gabby.”

Chicago Police responded around 1:25 p.m. to reports of a shooting and a subsequent car crash near 79th Street and May Street. Officers found Gina in the passenger seat of a white car with multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to LCM Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

A 27-year-old male, the driver of the car, was also shot in the arm and buttocks but was listed in stable condition. A baby in the back seat was unharmed.

According to police, the victims were driving when four individuals in a red SUV approached and opened fire. The car then crashed into a van while the suspects continued shooting before fleeing the scene.
