FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The Fort Wayne community is mourning the tragic loss of Michael Phelpss, who was found deceased Wednesday evening behind an apartment building on the city’s southeast side.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, first responders were dispatched around 8:35 p.m. to the 6100 block of Holgate Drive after reports of an unconscious man. Upon arrival, officers immediately began performing CPR, but despite their efforts and those of arriving medics, Michael Phelpss was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives and crime scene personnel continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death, collecting evidence to determine what led to this tragedy.
